One of the most often asked questions I get is "Can I Still Buy a Home With No Money Down in Salt Lake".
The answer is yes, you can. If you are a First Time Home Buyer, and meet certain qualifications.
But you won't find this 100% financing type loan just anywhere.
In fact, many lenders in SLC don't know how to go about providing 100% financing for Salt Lake Home buyers, and a lot of them don't encourage that type of loan because they are more work, and less profitable.
And of course everyone doesn't qualify.
I wrote to our good friend and trusted loan officer Candy Olson over @ Security National Mortgage to see if she had a product that would help our clients buy their first home with little or no money out of pocket.

Utah Housing is a program that benefits the First Time Home buyer (being anyone who has not owned a home in the last 3 years).
It offers below market rates and 100% financing on 30 year fixed rate products.
You would be eligible for the tax credit if your purchase contract is dated prior to the end of April and closed by July 1st of 2010. Prequalification is as easy as a phone call, email or apply on website.
This is a government loan program and could easily be done in time for you to get this additional tax benefit. (Loans up to $637,500 depending on county and there are some income limitations based on family size.)
