Salt Lake City Real Estate by Corie

And other Home Town "stuff " I like

Salt Lake Real Estate Stuff I Didn't Have Time To Blog !

My desk, in fact my entire office is just overflowing with  Real Estate articles, clippings and other things related to the Housing market in and around Salt Lake City. At one time I must have thought they were important enough or interesting enough to save so that sometime later I could tell you about them through my Real Estate Blog.

I never got around to it, and now instead of inspiration, it's just clutter.

As I toss & shred I recognise the information, but I have long since lost the ""AH HAH" moment that was to be the germ of an article.

Rather than just let all this info be carried away on Monday morning, never to be commented on, I'm just going to jot down the essence that I once thought could make important and interesting Real Estate Information.

I'll let you make up a story to fit the topic.

About 2,000 houses @ Daybreak In South Jordan are occupied. Kennecott Land expects to build 20,000 residences, (homes and condominiums) with a population of 45,000 people. Reported in the Salt Lake Tribune, 6/27/09.

In 2008 Utah ranked as the fastest growing state in the nation. During that time, 55,000 babies were born in the state and net migration reached  17,000 people. Salt Lake Tribune 3/07/09.

The maximum tax credit available to home owners in Salt Lake for installing energy efficient home improvements is $1500 for most items. www.energystar.gov. Thanks to Mark Kohler in Utah Realtor.

A tax credit of 30% of the cost of eligible equipment ie: heat pumps, solar water heaters, solar panels, fuel cells and windmills can be had for existing homes, or new construction. again see www.energystar.gov. Thanks again to Mark.

While we are constantly reminded that home prices have plummeted across the nation, In Utah, it's not so bad. Second quarter Median Price statistics look like this. As reported in September Utah Business Magazine.

SALT LAKE COUNTY:  Down  5%.

UTAH COUNTY:           Down 10%

DAVIS COUNTY:          Down  4%

TOOELE COUNTY:       Down  2%

WEBER COUNTY:        Down  4%

Ivory Homes one of Utah's largest New Home Builders has entered the 55+ age group market with a line of condos and single family homes that appeal to an age group that no longer wants to be responsible for outside maintenance, and desires the freedom to pack up and leave for a couple of weeks without seeing the homestead go to the dogs. Like just about everything Ivory Homes does, it will be well thought out and of high quality. From the Salt Lake tribune 2/27/09.

More than 3 dozen units in the Regent, a downtown Salt Lake City Condominium project have been reserved. Fifty four units are left in the first phase. Since the Regent is a 20 story project I'm wondering how you phase construction on 150 Condominiums. Courtesy Salt Lake Tribune 11/01/09.

That area on the corner of 90th South and 2200 West will be forever known as "the Pumpkin Patch" to West Jordan homes Owners. But to the younger set it is the site of Hawthorne Academy, a new Charter School that will house up to 700 students from Kindergarten thru the eighth grade. If your looking to buy a home in West Jordan and good education is important to your decision making, check out the "pumpkin Patch". West Jordan Journal, March 09.

Well I'm thinking this may not have been such a good Idea, or that I waited longer than I should.  I noticed that a lot of this valuable information has lost it's value because things change in Salt Lake Real Estate, and yesterdays Home buying news is well.......... yesterdays homebuyers news!

Stop by our website if you have any confidence left in us @ Salt Lake Real Estate and see what other dumb Ideas we may have.
