Salt Lake New Home Buyers Hit It Big
Not 10 minutes after I had heard that Salt Lake New Home Buyers had hit it big again with phase 2 of the very successful Grant for New Home Buyers In Salt Lake (The Home Run Grant is actually available to New home/ Condo buyers throughout the entire State of Utah.) I received e-mails from 2 of our favorite lenders, offering in site, and going over the differences between the grant offered by the last Utah Governor and this new home buying grant authored by Utahs new Governor Herbert.
Both Candy Olson, of Silver Ridge Mortgage, and Doug Walker @ Republic Mortgage jumped on it so that I can get it out to you.

This is what Doug has to say.
Earlier this summer, Gov. Huntsman earmarked $10,000,000 of the federal stimulus money to help the housing industry by providing $6,000 grants to buyers of completed new homes. They called it the "Home Run Grant" and it helped clear the inventory of "spec" homes on the market. The response was so strong that we went through over 1,600 grants in under 3 months.
Gov. Herbert has given us extra innings with the "Home Run Grant 2". This time around the grant program is funded with $7,800,000 and provides $4,000 per grant. This will fund 1,950 grants.
One big change from the first grant is that now it can be used for homes that have not been started yet - as long as the home will be completed by June 30, 2010.
We arranged the previous grant for many of our buyers and we know how to do them efficiently.

Don't forget about the $8,000 tax credit also. If you close on a home before Nov 30 this year and have not owned a home in the last 3 years, you are eligible for that credit.
