Our friend and go to guy in the Salt Lake Mortgage business, Ron Holt of Countrywide Mortgage sent is some good news in the mail this morning about Mortgage Loans and Interest Rates,
Plus, Ron gave us all a heads up about filing an amended return to get an immediate benefit from the $8,000 Federal Tax Incentive bill for first time home buyers for those people that have already filed their taxes and don't want to wait until next year to claim their credit.
Ron should have the official IRS link soon explaining how to do this. Keep your eye on this site as we will post it as soon as he notifies us.

Good morning everyone...rates have dropped again and looking awesome!!!
Conventional: 4.375%
FHA: 4.50%
Rural Housing: 4.375%
Utah Housing: 6.125%
Remember...if any of your buyers are thinking it's too late to take advantage of the $8,000 tax credit and have already filed their taxes, they can amend their tax return now to get this money back in a few weeks instead of waiting until next year to file. I have emailed a friend at the IRS to get the official link explaining this. I will forward when I get it.

As an aside, Ron's also the guy you need to know when you you see a comment in the remark section of a new home listing that says "must have a pre-qualification letter from Countrywide Mortgage".
If you qualify, Ron can get you that letter..... PDQ.
