highlights.
Buy a home, get up to $8000 dollars tax credit on the house or Condo.
No repayment if you own the home for 3 years or more.
Your new home purchase reduces tax burden dollar for dollar.
Unused tax credit on home or condo purchase refunded in cash.
Available only to first time home buyers. (haven't owned a home in 3 years)
Income cannot exceed $75,000 dollars per year. ( husband, wife is $150,000)
Must buy a home in 2009.
NAR expects first time home buyers to generate 300,000 new home sales.
