Salt Lake Homes Sales Beat National Average- So What?
According to the MLS, Septembers Salt Lake Home Sales beat the national average. SLC home sales increased by 13% over the same month last year.
I guess we should be celebrating here in SLC. Why?...... Because In
Today's article @ MSNBCs National Home Sales Industry leaders speaks to a 5.1% gain in the national housing market, and suggests that maybe housing prices are finding a bottom.
The folks at MSN also say that these housing numbers represent the best increase in 5 years, and the first year-over-year home sales increase since November of 2005.
So what !!... If it's not in your neighborhood, or the place your moving, it doesn't count.
What counts is what are houses selling for in Sandy UT, or Draper, or South Jordan. What matters to home buyers is what are the prices of Condominiums in West Jordan, Murray, or Taylorsville. My clients want to know "what will a New Home cost in Riverton UT, not Riverton Wyoming.
I guess what I'm saying is, and I'm saying it for the 100th time is REAL ESTATE IS LOCAL!!!
If you are selling a home, look for a Realtor that knows the area and the Inventory. Proper pricing and exposure are the 2 most important elements in a successful home sale.
If you are buying, find a Realtor that has a well thought out web-site with information about the area you want to buy a house in. Do your own searches in the privacy of your own home, at your own pace, w/o an agent calling you every hour to go look at houses for sale. Then when your ready, when you've narrowed your search down to a manageable number of homes listed on the MLS, call the agent to set up appointments.
Don't worry about the Real Estate market in Murray Georgia, when what you really want to know about is a Town Home in Midvale,Utah.
