Foreclosures, Pre-Foreclosures In Salt Lake !

Yesterday we wrote about Foreclosures & Pre-Foreclosures in Salt Lake County. Many of you have asked us to be more specific and list distressed homes for sale in Salt Lake by area or town.

Some of you were investors looking for the best place to get a "good deal on a home". Others were families looking to take advantage of this market to upgrade the family home; Maybe go from a three bedroom town home in Murray to a four bedroom rambler in Sandy, or West Jordan.

Whatever your needs, here is the information you have asked for, broken out in 4 categories.

These stats are provided by the Wasatch Front Regional MLS from Salt Lake Homes for Sale listings supplied by Realtor members. Foreclosures are those homes listed as Bank Owned, HUD Homes, and REOs. Pre-Foreclosures are Short Sales, or any house or condo that requires third party approval before a sale can be completed. 

Salt Lake County
There are 8453 single family homes listed in Salt Lake County on
the MLS. 1120 are distressed, which is about 13% of the Inventory.

Salt Lake City
In Salt Lake City there are 2464 homes for sale on the MLS. Only 235, or 9.5% are Foreclosures or Pre-Foreclosures.


Sandy City
Sandy City Foreclosures represent 8.4% of the 841 homes for sale.(100).

West Jordan
Of the 779 houses listed for sale in West Jordan, 12.9% or 101 single family residents are in trouble.


Draper
Seventeen point three per cent of the 674 listings in Draper are either foreclosed houses or in danger of Foreclosure.

South Jordan
South Jordan has 634 homes/condos for sale. Ninety five are distressed properties. (14.9%).

West Valley City
There are 582 homes for sale in W. Valley City. 14.2%, or 83 houses are Foreclosures.

Herriman
Almost thirty two (31.9%) of Herriman's homes for sale (426) are either Foreclosures or possible Foreclosures.(136).

Riverton UT
Riverton UTAH, has 347 listings, 64 problem houses which is 18.4%.

Holladay UT
Only 11 of the 287 Holladay homes for sale are possible Foreclosures. That's only 3.8%.

Murray UT
Murray UT lists 17 problem properties, which is 6.9% of the 245 homes and Condominiums for sale in Murray.

Taylorsville UT
Two hundred forty two homes and condos are listed in Taylorsville UT. Twenty five, or less than 10% are problems.

Cotton Wood Heights
Twenty four of the 204 homes listed for sale in Cotton Wood Heights are distressed. That's only 11.7%.

Midvale
Of the 175 homes or condos listed in Midvale only 17, or 9.7% are Foreclosure candidates.

Magna
Twenty nine of Magna's 171 listings are problems. (17%)

Bluffdale UT
Foreclosures and Pre-Foreclosures make up 33.6% of Bluff dales 110 homes for sale.

Kearns
Kearns, with only 86 homes listed offers 13.9% or 12 units as possible foreclosed homes.

So there you have it,information on where you could go to start looking for your new home.The list doesn't include all of the homes for sale by owner (FSBOs) or many of the new construction properties, but is complete enough to lead you in the direction of where the Real Estate market in Salt Lake is the softest.
