Utah Home Foreclosure Rates Top Last Year !!
Utah Home foreclosure rates top last year at this time, but are not the highest in recent history.
That nice to know Real Estate Information is according to the associated Press as reported in Saturdays Money section of the Salt Lake Tribune.
The states foreclosure rate, the percentage of loans at some point in the foreclosure process, rose to 0.55 % in the first quarter of this year. That was up from 0.33 % from the same quarter in 2007.
What that means is that of 1000 homes in say West Jordan, or Herriman 5.5 of them are in default, or somewhere on the 120 day path (minimum) to foreclosure. ( In 2007, that was 3.3 homes).
Now that can be presented two ways. My way... Or the "Sell More Newspapers" way.
The SMN way says HOME FORECLOSURES IN UTAH UP 66% OVER LAST YEAR.
OR...!!!
HOME FORECLOSURES INCREASE ONLY 2 HOMES OUT OF 1000 THIS YEAR. ( those 2 have 120 days to bring mortgage current, sell the house and pay off mortgage, refinance, sell short or find some other way to satisfy the Bank).
Folks ... I know things are tough in the Real Estate Industry, I'm not burying my head in the sand, but isn't this just another way of saying the glass is half empty?
I choose "the glass is half full"
