West Jordan Home Builder Makes Me Glad I Was Wrong !!
Well, O K, I'm wrong again. Ivory Homes is not just a West Jordan home builder. Ivory Homes is the largest new home builder in the state.
It can be argued that Ivory homes is not just the biggest, but also the best home builder in Utah. None of that however is why I am glad I was wrong, except that If I didn't hold them in such high regard, I probably wouldn't be so quick to admit that last year I WAS WRONG.
Heres the story...
Last year, the West Jordan City Council voted to deny zoning density to Ivory Homes on part of the Stone Creek Development. In my article common sense wins out, I lauded the West Jordan leaders for not giving in to the request for additional housing density.
Last week the W. Jordan council reversed that decision in a settlement that will allow Ivory to develop 58 town homes and 37 single family detached homes on the 15 acres located at approximately 5001 West, 7800 South.
It was a victory for Utah's largest home builder, but with Real Estate being the way it is right now it was a victory for all of us.
It was a victory, because Ivory Homes will do what it always does, even in tough times, it will bring a successful product to market. This planned unit development of town homes and single family homes will bring jobs and opportunity to West Jordan.
The collection of Impact fees, building permits, and inspection income will help the city coffers. Construction jobs, title work, engineering and architectural work will be required. Real Estate, Title and Mortgage personnel can bid for a piece of the pie. The list goes on. The list, and the times make me glad I was wrong.
