Have a Real Great Weekend

Not a lot of real great things for Salt Lake  families to do this weekend around the South Valley.  This could probably be called a sandwich weekend, stuck between Fire & Ice, The Salt Lake County Fair and Labor day celebrations, most home towns are leaving it up to us.   There are a couple of things though, so with only a few weekends left, get the chores done early, load up the family, get out of the house and get out there.

West Jordan:  We've all been waiting for this.  Friday night @ 5:00 doors open for Diamond Rio @ the West Jordan Arena.

Rio, formed in the 80s, and big hits through the 90s, offers a good mix of modern country, rock and roll and some traditional bluegrass. Bill Bailey, a West Jordan resident and employee opens with his 3 piece band Contagious. The band includes 2 local West Jordan members and a Sandy-ite.

This is the first of many concerts planned for the arena.  Keep your eyes open.

Sandy City:  Bring the family out to a real great night under the stars either night this weekend as The Sandy Art Guild presents"Tale as old as time".  Plan to visit the Sandy City Amphitheater often as new presentations will run through mid September as part of the Summer of stars offerings.

Don't forget the free services.  City Parks and playgrounds, with adjacent barbecue & picnic areas located all along over the Salt Lake Valley.  Pack a lunch, take a blanket a book and the kids.  Go early and don't come home until dark.

It's summer time, and it's almost over.  Have a good weekend.
