South Jordan Homes, "models of Effectiveness"

According to the South Valley Journal, some builders in the Daybreak community of South Jordan are helping Utah save energy as part of the states "Power Forward" program.

The "Power Forward" program helps Utah residents conserve energy by encouraging New Home Builders to include new features such as added blown-in insulation, air & thermal barriers, more efficient air ducts and other inovative design specifications that reduces the amount of energy a house consumes.

Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert after visiting a Rainey Home @ Daybreak in South Jordan, claimed that "appropriate architectural design can help reduce energy consumption up to 50%".

According to Rocky Mountain Power, the program saved approximately 100 megawatts of power during peak usage hours last year, enough to reduce pollution and power 50,000 homes.

Get behind the program.  If you are looking to buy a New Home, ask the builder if they are a participant in the Rocky Mountain Power "Power Forward" program.  Ask about new energy efficient products and design.  Better yet, as your agent, let me ask them.  It pays.
