Yes! Fathers day is Real: So let Dad stay Home

No breakfasts out.  No movies away from home.  No shopping, no yardwork.  It's Dads day and has been since June of 1910.  But unlike that other day, Mothers Day, dads get the short end of the stick.  Did you know we spend almost 35% more on Moms than Dads on cards for those special days?

Reading the coming events section of either the Riverton, or South Jordan Valley Journal, I noticed there was no celebration planned this weekend to help me celebrate my Dad. So,  In honor of all the Dads, and to help you remember, I have plagiarized a few thoughts to share with you that will perhaps start our day off right.

One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters............................................Proverb

It doesn't matter who my father was, it matters who I remember he was...............A. Sexton

Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a dad............. .......Proverb

It is easier for a father to have children, than for children to have a REAL father.   Pope JohnXXIII

Fatherhood is pretending the present you love the most is Soap-on-a Rope.          Bill Cosby

When I was a kid, I said to my father one afternoon,"Daddy will you take me
to the zoo? "  He answered, " If the zoo wants you, they can pick you up
."........... Jerry Lewis

My father would play with my brothers and me in the yard of our Home,
my mom would come out and say "you're tearing up the grass".  Dad would reply
"were not raising grass here, were raising kids
".....................................................H.Killebrew

I hope this has reminded you of what your Dad has meant to you in your life.  If he's not still here, spend a moment to reflect about what your days together were like.  If he is, let him know it's his special day.  Bake him a cake, light the barbeque for him, let him watch golf or the race.  Or just let him sleep.!

Have a good one.
