West Jordan Museum A Real Treasure
The West Jordan museum board has a lot on there plate this year and could use your help. One has to do with money, (doesn't it usually ? ) Moving the 100 year old Steadman Barn from it's current site at 2200 West, 7000 South to the museum grounds is expected to cost about $30,000. So far $7000 has been donated. If you would like to help this welcomed addition to an already wonderful facility, give a board member a call.
The board is also looking for residents that actually worked at the old Sugar Factory. The plan is to record the memories of these workers and create an oral history to be shared with the younger members of our community. These oral histories will be displayed with other Sugar Factory memorabilia such as photos, sugar sacks, letterhead, tools, etc.
These are very worthwhile projects, that will surely benefit our community. If you can be of any help, you can call 255-3116.
If you haven't visited the West Jordan Memorial Park lately you need to take a drive and see what a legacy the old Sugar Factory has left the West Jordan citizenry.
