I Learned Real Estate From The "Music Man"

For several months now I have been taking a different route across the Salt Lake Valley because of that nasty road construction.  From this new route ( which I have adopted as the norm for the Salt Lake Valley south end traverse ) I noticed homes located on a hillside in South Jordan that looked like they were in the middle of nowhere ( landlocked ) close to the Jordan Parkway.

Sunday morning my pal and I were driving to Johannas for breakfast and I mentioned that I would like to drive by these homes later.   What an adventure, taking all these dead ends and cul-de-sac streets that seemed like they would take us there, but alas, curses, foiled again.  Finally after what seemed like hours, and mucho gallons of $3.00 gas we found our way through the maze to  a wonderful development of new homes along the Jordan Parkway in South Jordan.

Now the best part;   while we were trying to find our "yellow brick road", we discovered a gold mine of mature subdivisions I did not know about.   Names like... Palmer Vista Estates,   Wilshire Estates,   Parkway Palisades , beautiful lived in communities I didn't even know were there.   I have lived in this area for almost 30 years, have watched the fields being subdivided and new homes being built, went on countless property tours all over the south end of the valley, and didn't know these areas existed.  This revealed to me  three things.  1.  These homes don't sell often.   2.  When they do they go quickly.   3.  The neighbors probably determine who will live next door (tell their friends).   Oh, there is a fourth, I'd better" know my territory".

A great concept, "knowing your territory" . I'd like to say I have learned my lesson, but even though I think I have, this will happen again. The Salt Lake Valley continues to grow at an amazing rate.   South Jordan, West Jordan, Riverton, Bluffdale, and  Draper continue to build in every nook and cranny.   We cant keep up.  But we can keep looking, and I intend to.   Weathered brick and tree lined sidewalks, grass to smell and to walk and play on.  Instead of thinking new home, think about our yellow brick road.

Just remember when you start your search for a new home I've already done the legwork and would love to help.  Cause I now" Know The Territory ".  Give me a call.
