Two more things not to do !!!

Our Tooele Broker wrote yesterday about the six things you shouldn't do before you purchase Real Estate. All six could keep you from getting the loan you want. In other words, do any of those six things and you might not qualify.

I want to add two more, and they may be even more important than the first six, because in these cases, you get the loan, get the house and then realize you Shouldn't.....

1.   Buy as much as you qualify for.   Lenders and Agents often encourage you to buy as much as your debt to income ratios indicate you can afford. But ratios are not lifestyles, and may not reflect private school obligations, elderly parent commitments or a variety of considerations that could be made more comfortable with a smaller mortgage.  Don't buy as much as you can, just as much as you want.

2.    Buy  from a builder without someone representing you. That bright, optimistic, attractive, enthusiastic salesperson you meet in the Builders Model works for the builder. They are the builders agent.  They are not obligated to negotiate in your best interest.   It's not that they are not honest, it's just not what they are paid to do. You need someone looking out for you. For a list of things your agent should help you with, go to NEW CONSTRUCTION on my website and see how it works. Then either call me or your favorite agent.

So now we have eight things you shouldn't do before purchasing a home.   There are more, and well bring them to you, keep on blogging.
